The Smyth

Stamford’s wave of construction is continuing the revitalization of this city’s development. Both instate and out of state developers have continued this growth.

It is speculated by the US Census Bureau that by 2025 Stamford could be the largest city in the Nutmeg State with a population of 136,000 residents.

The Smyth apartments, a mixed-use project across from City Hall on Tresser Blvd. is one of the newest. It is a 17-story building with a roof pool and 19,330 sq. ft. of retail space. Three stories of garage parking are provided for the high-end homes.

Residents may occupy 574 to 2,065 square feet in studios to 3-bedroom suites and 2-story penthouses, all heated and cooled by Allied Air’s™Magic Pak® ducted all-in-one system.

95% efficient, all-in-one, V-Series models with slide out chassis were selected for use in the studios, 1- and 2-bedroom apartments.

The M-Series, all-in-one, 2, 2 1/2, and 3-ton systems were installed in the bedroom suites and penthouses which require more air conditioning capacity.

The V-Series offers a slide out chassis feature that prevents any downtime during summer when cooling is in operation. Should the unit need replacement or repair it can easily be removed and a spare entered in its place so there’s no downtime without cooling.

The M-Series offers uniform design. There is less to specify since lengthy wire runs and line sets are no longer needed. Contractors have an easy time with installation because every unit is the same. Different tonnages are no longer a concern.

Magic-Pak® systems preserve the clean, uncluttered exterior of the building, while lack of multiple condensing units preserves open space on the ground. Customizable exterior louvers further extend creative possibilities without a compromise to the building form, space or ambiance.

The Smyth Community was developed to include private offices with conference functions for those still working virtually; a modern design that will be seen in more construction going forward. A 17th floor pool deck with fire pits and ‘work from home’ suites are featured amenities. A children’s playroom and a podcast recording room attract young millennials who can take the Metro North rail system to commute to Grand Central Station in New York in less than an hour for work.

The Magic Pak® system meets today’s need for streamlined efficiency in the multifamily market. Developers save up to $500 a system over split- systems. Both the architectural community and the homeowner prefer the Magic Pak® for its beauty and independent heating and cooling comfort control.
