The Tecochill Gas Engine Hybrid System
The Tecochill Gas Engine Hybrid System offers the best of both worlds when it comes to saving energy and cooling costs. The new Hybrid Drive technology introduced last Spring offers consumers a bridge from high carbon energy consumption to a low GWP energy world.
It’s ideal for new applications and the retrofit customer wanting to reduce his carbon footprint and his energy costs. This new smart hybrid technology combines two power sources, gas and electricity, that can be blended to optimize savings and the customer’s carbon footprint.
The opportunity for a bridge fuel is key to today’s energy market, as technology continues to absorb large amounts of electric power. Combining the two sources of gas and electricity in the intelligent hybrid-drive, air-cooled, Tecogen chiller system offers an excellent strategy.
The combined heat and power (CHP) allows you to adjust the power blend in response to grid carbon intensity inputs, to minimize greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) and optimize utility costs based on real time energy pricing. Two power sources provides owners extra resiliency during grid outages. Customers may also qualify for the 40% investment tax credit (ITC) which Tecogen’s CHP qualifies for as a form of mechanical cogeneration. This Federal investment tax credit was developed to encourage improvements in energy efficiency, lower the Nation’s carbon footprint, and reduce costs for projects in healthcare, education, hospitality and manufacturing.
